Who: boys and girls ages 7-12 years old
What: to increase school readiness skills related to focus/attention span, following directions and social skills
Why horses: Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) utilizes a mental health professional, an equine specialist, horses and clients to work on learning goals. Horses have mirror cells that help them mimic peoples’ behaviors and feelings. EAL is not riding. It’s freely using the horses to develop relationships and use as metaphors in educational goals. One might hear us ask “What are the horses doing”, because a horse can tell us a great deal about our thoughts and feelings.
